DID I DO THE RIGHT THING? (II)

Did I do the right thing?

I thought I did. I think I did. But this guy...ok, let's say...what happens if a dog is tied all the time? If a dog is tied all the time and if he gets to escape sometimes it creates havoc. This guy was like that tied dog before he met me. I let me out. He was happy like that dog. He was running around like that dog, smashing everything around him, messing gardens, scaring kids figuratively. He was unaware of the damage he was causing because he never knew what it was like being happy, being confident.

He was acting like the first time drinker. He was a drinker before I met him, all right. Matter of fact, he used to drink way too much always. He would not be happy until he was drunk and this was almost everyday.

He became blunt in his approach with people. He would say nasty thing in their face. He would even come down to insulting people around him often. I told him he was being hyper. I would hint that maybe reading Painfully Shy was little too much of a does for him. He would make a face and shrug.

Occasionally, he would insult me as well. I thought he will learn to behave. I thought he was having that 'dog tied too much' phase and he would overcome it soon. But I was wrong. He started insulting me in front of other people as well. Even my friends started noticing it. They would hint me that I should mingle with people my own age.

Then it crossed the limit one day. He was drunk and he insulted me really bad. And he got something he had never expected from me. He got a good kick in his face. Oh, you should have seen his face. I mean the surprise in his face.

I haven't seen him from that day even if he lives two blocks away. I think he went back to his cocoon. I am sorry for that but some people MUST learn it the hard way.

Did I do the right thing?
